WELCOME TO CROW'S NEST COTTAGE

Crow's Nest cottage, an easy 20 minutes by ferry off the remarkable Maine mid-coast, is a 100 year old, small, shingle-sided cape completely renovated in charming Maine island decor. Located at the northern, rural end of legendary Islesboro Island, the cottage faces the Meadow Pond, a wildlife refuge. The State of Maine ferry leaves from Lincolnville, minutes north of the lovely harbor town of Camden. A GREAT VALUE FOR A FABULOUS LOCATION. Sleeps four comfortably. SMOKE-FREE HOME!

This is a place that "time forgot." Think about 19th century Vermont transported to an island in the ocean! If you are looking for movie theaters, amusement parks, bars, fast food, shopping, and crowds, this is NOT a place for you. Awesome beach-combing, walking, running, biking, kayaking, and birding area! Photographers and artists will be in heaven!

MAGICAL ISLESBORO ISLAND

Islesboro Island is perhaps the most beautiful of all Maine islands. A 14 mile long gem with secluded beaches and rocky coves, Islesboro’s simple and quiet elegance has made it world famous. Accessible via a 20 minute, gorgeous ferry ride from Lincolnville Beach -- 10 minutes north of Camden, 15 minutes south of Belfast -- the island is a unique community where the sea, natural wonders, and amazing historic homes are the attraction. This is a place that “time forgot.” If you are looking for movie theaters, amusement parks, bars, fast food, shopping, and crowds, this is NOT a place for you. Awesome kayaking, beachcombing, walking, running, biking, and birding area! Most of all, this is a place for complete relaxation.

OUR MEADOW POND NEIGHBORHOOD

Crows Nest cottage is located “up-island” and looks across to the 10 acre, fresh water, Meadow Pond, a neat wildlife refuge for deer, birds, turtles, beaver, etc. You need a car on the island to get to the 2 small grocery stores, to the 2 restaurants and ice cream parlor, for speedy trips to local beaches and public playground, and to get to the ferry.

A PLACE WITH 100's OF SECLUDED AND HIDDEN COVES AND BEACHES

If you love the splendor of the Atlantic Ocean and Maine coast without droves of tourists, Islesboro is your place. There are dozens of secluded and incredible coves and beaches -- both sandy and rocky -- within a 5 to 15 minute drive from the cottage. Or pack a backpack and bike (or walk!!) to them....Explore them on foot and or in a kayak. Bring picnic lunches and suppers and play Robinson Crusoe on your "private" island.

A HEAVEN FOR ARTISTS and PHOTOGRAPHERS

Whether you're a sailor or just love to watch the water and sunsets, Islesboro is a rare visual treat for artists and photographers alike. A day doesn't go by, no matter what the weather, that something doesn't take your breath away.
